Butlern is correct, the slide feature actually works very well and definitely use a separate servo for tail wheel steering. I'm using a 1 1/4" sullivan tailwheel. Can't speak to how well the retract will hold up long term but it looks sturdy enough for a tailwheel retract. Besides it's pretty tight back there, I don't know if you could fit anything else. Keep us posted on your progress with the zero.
