Default Building the SPA3D

Wow Tattoo..you really have the bug!
That's what happens when you have a lot of retired combat equipment laying around

is this better than the PQHOR?
I think it is, but then I'm just one person...so I guess in all honesty the jury will have to be out until some more flight reports come in. Kraut built one just like mine, and he hopes to fly it soon. He's a much better 3D pilot (ouch it hurts to admit that) than me so his report should be interesting. Just from the ones I flown, the Spa3d is more stable in straight up hover (no falling backwards at all)--it's about the same in upright harriers--it's better in inverted harriers--upright flatspins are sightly better--inverted flatspins are way better--positive G pitch response is about the same--negitive pitch response blows the PQHOR away with awesome low throttle waterfalls. I also think full throttle straight and level is more stable, with no tucking whatsoever. The build is also easier, especially cutting out the profile fuselage in the front, and I really really really like the fuel tank mount for hassle free simplicity, and the tank being closer to the airplane's CG. I also like the tail wheel installation...I moved the vertical forward so that the tail wheel wire goes through the aluminum fuselage, and that adds a lot of support with less chance of ripping out the rudder hinge with tail wheel abuse

I think you could build one from the drawings alone
Thank you! That means a lot to me...I've learned a lot on the forums about trying to present a design. Certianly no professional, but I'm getting better at it!
