Yes it is, it's what I learnt on after I destroyed my 1st plane which had ailerons in 6 seconds !!!!!!
I'd also look at the Multiplex Easystar which is possibly slighly better quality and easier to upgrade and put a brushless motor in at a later stage but it is more money and both are good options at this stage.
Whichever route you go depending upon how quickly you pick it up but you'll probably outgrow them fairly soon, I'm not sure how good a builder you are but you can adapt both for ailerons later if you want.
If you do go the Easystar route you can also get a decent tranmitter now which again will save you upgrading later and also get servo's, speed controller and RX that can also be transferred which you can't do with the SuperCub.
Depending on how much Heli / Sim time you have the other alternative is the Multiplex MinMag which you can start off with rudder only and then when you're ready it takes about 5 mins to free up and plug the ailerons in but ideally you'd really want someone with you for the 1st couple of flights.
