The current version of the 116 is not the same as the original, which is why it weighs a little more.

The early 116's had induction issues which have been 100% corrected for those that acquired the modified reed block from the maufacturer. No issues there anymore. BME no longer uses Falkon ignitions so that issues is also long gone.

The 116 is the lightest 100cc class engine, with more power than the nearest engine in size or power, which is the 3w 106. The 106 weighs almost a full 2 pounds more than the 116. So the old 116's are lighter than the new, with reliability up there with any of the biggies and power that beats them.
