If the wires aren't tight, then it'll allow the rudder to "wiggle" between making one pull-pull rudder tight and then the other. Obviously such a big control surface is going to accentuate even the smallest of variations. I'd make mine as tight as you can get them....tight's not going to have any adverse effects.
Well, I maidened my plane yesterday! I worked on the engine just about the whole day today, and at about 5:45 the wind was low enough, my engine was running well enough, and I was feeling good. I added power and took off. That plane is QUICK! It's clean, solid, and stable. I did several rolls, a couple loops, and three or four snaps. I then finally landed and my knees stopped shaking. That plane's roll rate is incredible! Even with the balance way forward, it rolled extremely axially and hovered fairly well. The plane had quite a bit of power, and it's running sloppy rich with a terrible prop (old dinged up MA 14x6). I'm DYING to get more experience with the plane!!
