Folks:
I searched the fora and did not see my specific question;

I'm building a Phoenix Extra 300S, powered with OS FX .46. Engine mounted at proper distance from firewall to thrust washer. Cowl trimmed and ready to be mounted. NOW - when I tried to attach the (standard) muffler, 1) it does not clear the bottom of the fuse, and 2) looks as if it will require some trimming along the bottom of the cowl. Problem 2 is trivial, but I'm not sure what to do about problem #1.

Has anyone else run into this situation? How did you resolve it? (Pitts muffler, extension between exhaust port and muffler, etc)
