Why not check around for a used quality engine as you might be pleasantly surprised at the deals that are available, and then you could end up with the best of both worlds, unless of course you are hell bent on buying something really cheap.

My vote goes for a good used G-45. Great engine ... always been one of my favorites. Runs much smoother than its big brother the G-62 and they run forever.
