Hi Rob.
Are you old enuf to remember those crazy helicopter guys who used to fly at night downtown Brocton??? Getting back to Hawk....the Delta EDF supplied with kit is most adequate...and made just for this model. I think another mfgr make would be too much of a hassle to install properly!!
Keeping weight down is always a good thing, and one way is to leave undercarriage off entirely. That means U have to hand launch or use a Bungee hi-start,
The belly is riddled with LARGE cheater holes....so landing on grass or dirrt will probably ruin the fan if motor is running at touchdown. They say it lands nose high...& maybe thats a good thing!!!
Its a most beautiful product...so go for it I;d say.
