You must have a 3-wire charge port, and unless you buy the JR or Spektrum wire harness, it is probably not 3-wire. The bind plug shorts the signal and ground pins on the batt/bind input to the receiver. Most wiring harnesses only have the power and ground wires going to the receiver for power, they omit the signal wire.
