I've only been flying a year now. Took up building a few months ago to spell the winter months. Since I don't have a garage, I took over the boys old bedroom and have converted it into my hangar and building room. Stuff everywhere! Like you wzac, my wife used to call my plane that dam plane, now she says that dam room! I told her recently I needed more room and was considering taking over the living room since we really don't use it............she told me to go to my room!
Yes, First your building on the kitchen table untill she kicks you out because she is tired of the Balsa Dust Boogers and the CA stings her eyes. Then you move into a room in the house but are told to do all your cutting and sanding outside. On top of that you are threatened that if you slop epoxy on the carpet you will have to replace all the carpet in the house. OUCH[:@] That would hurt the hobby budjet. So then you build a workshop in the back yard, dub it "The Man Cave" and attempt to lay down rules such as "No women alloud inside" or "Your athority ends within 10 ft of this sactuary"
Attached is a picture with the Cave in the background. I have put $24,000 this 1500 sq ft two story oasis of testosterone and I still have to run electricity, HVAC, insulation and finish the interior walls... It is totally worth it
