Thanks..
One too many \plan_kits in the link.
I think most of your questions are answered in the latest verbage on the build page. It is based on the plans are available from MAN.. Hopefully they include an article reprint with the plans.. I know they used to.
GlockGuy is supposed to be making canopies, but I don't know the quality. If anyone has an old canopy, send it to Keith at Park Flyer Plastics [link]http://home.att.net/~parkflyerplastics[/link] to get one made up. His quality is second to none, and very reasonably priced. Let everybody know once he has a plug made. I have been using Keith for all of my plastic work. He made one for the Banshee, so size isn't a problem. I'm not sure what material he uses for the plug, but his canopies come out
fantastic.
Since it will be flown with a wide range on engines, the method I describe at the bottom of the page is he best way to get the nose ring in the proper location. Mount the nose ring on an installed engine, with a spacer to get a gap between it and the spinner, and fill in the sides, top and bottom with 1/2" or so balsa, and sand away what doesn't belong. I think the majority of planes where done that way back in the day.

dfturnock,
Nice "short kit" and foam wing, foam stab you have made!
1. I tried the link "build sequence" (
http://www.eurekaaircraft.com/plan_k..._one_build.htm ) but it gave me a ERROR 404 - PAGE NOT FOUND. Would be interesting to see the what you have to show in that link. Could you check why the link do not work?
2. Another question, have you made the kit based on orginal Mach 1 drawing (like it was in Model Airplane News for example)? I suppose plan from June 1973 issue of Model Airplane News. I have notiecd plan is still available at
www.rcstore.com (plan nr FSP06733).
Tried to find back issue of June 1973 Model Airplane News on their homepage but could not find anything that old. Maybe it is possble to order from MAN a reprint if the article of Mach 1.
3. How is it intended that nose/engine section is built - is it suppose to be carved out of balsa or is fiberglas cowl to prefer? In Your "Modified tank area plan" on your homepage the nose section has no details.
4. Any plans for selling a plastic canopy for Mach 1?
