The only port you can bind a 7000 on is the BATT/BIND port, you can NOT bind by plugging into a servo port with the bind plug. You CAN connect the battery to any port but not the bind plug.
But, and I have not done it yet, I believe you can bind through your charging plug, if it runs through to the bind/charge terminal and it's a three wire plug.
Right now I have a spare 6 inch lead on each of my receivers bind plugs, so I don't have to pull the receiver to rebind. I need to try it through the charging plug on my next plane.
