Default RE: Edge 540 fin angle is off

ORIGINAL: Ernie Misner

The angle was off quite a bit, maybe 15 degrees or so. The fin was not made properly. I had to make a wedge that tapered from about 3/32" to fill in that gap. The only other option was not to keep the rudder hinge line straight in it's groove but that would have been a bad idea as you noted.

Of interest is that the directions on the CD are showing pictures and giving info on assembling the Fusion, not the Edge. (like checking for clearance on the counterbalances on the elevator (aren't any on the Edge) and reaching through the hatch on the left wing (it's on the right wing on the Edge) to tighten the wing bolt), etc. That isn't a big deal to me at all but I had to chuckle since I have a Fusion sitting right here too.

Thanks for being here for us,

Ernie
Thanks for the tips on the manual. I'll go back and check that section. I just got done going through the new ProYak ARF manaul so it is fresh in my mind. Sorry about that fin and sounds like that one got through the QC in china.
