Default BVM F-86 old version convert to what?

I have an older version BVM F-86 pre-AFS. It was built as a ducted fan using BVM's unit. It is well built. I am debating on what to convert to electric or turbine?
BVM's conversion kit is pricey and am wondering if all of the added parts and work are necessary.
I have a WREN 54 12 lb. thrust to use.
