Default RE: balancing

ORIGINAL: RuninWideOpen

Hello all I have a groovy 50 3D from world models, everybody at my field says that it should be nose heavy. But my question is how much heavy? Right now it falls nose first as soon as you pick it up when checking at the CG but if I move forward approx 1/2 to 1" then it barely drops ,What do you all think, Im ready to maiden it but dont wont to crash it because its not balanced correctly ....thanks all

G'day Mate,
Most manufacturers, give very conservative balance points, so I balance at the recommended point for the first flight, it WILL be nose heavy anyway. Then move it back from there. Enjoy.
I have maidened a couple of them & they are ***** cats, when balanced as shown, with less than aggressive control throws, you can always make em more sensitive later.
