I have built two Hog Bipes, and I made certain they were both a bit nose heavy to start. I would then just take off a bit of weight before every flight until I thought it was good. Much better than getting it up in the air and then realizing you should have had a bit more nose weight. Back when I was learning how to fly my Instructor told me something that always stuck in my mind. He said "Nose heavy planes don't fly great, but tail heavy planes alot of times only fly once!" The point I took away from that is that its better to be a bit nose heavy then end up with toothpicks.
