Is the ' Maverick and the Renegade the same plane with different trim?

I was anticipating a Rotax 912 engine or perhaps a small lycoming or Continental or perhaps a Jabiru
How much affect could any of those choices affect the LSA requirement ( 1320 max gross weight)
