I cut mine off so they only exited the bottom of the plane about 1/2" so they really didn't do that good of a job deflecting the exhaust out of the plane.

It seems that as the production of these pipes go on the stinger length changes. If yours were really 4" long that is longer than mine were stock and even longer than the ones we used on our prototypes.
