That is what I was going to ask. What is the best way to shut them down? Optic cut off switch, Or just the throttle kill button on the radio? I have one on my DX6i and it just close's the throttle the rest of the way and she shuts down. Now that is on a nitro motor. Is it the same on the DL?
Easiest and most common way is with a throttle cut off on the transmitter. Idle speed is set and trimmed then about a 15- 20% reduction in throttle position in the throttle cut mix in your radio and the engine should shut off reliably. Other methods such as an optically isolated ignition shut off switch or a choke servo are also good alternatives but not necessary unless you fly in IMAC competition, their rules require two remote methods of shutting down the engine.
