RE: Monocoupe 90A Kangke
Well, does not look like anyone has looked at this thread lately... but here is the latest. Everything about "teeth" "dipped wings" and etc is correct. My maiden flight was ok until the landing. I came in too slow and just before touchdown the left wing dipped and hit the runway. The plane cartwheeled a couple of times. I was sick. Luckily, with all the extra strength of the wing supports it tumbled around with minimal damage. There was only damage on the tip of the left wing, the back of the fuse just before the stab and one side of the cockpit area. The landing gear was tweaked along with the wing tube and one wing strut. Seriously, not a big deal. The wood pieces epoxy'd back together without issue. I fixed it up within a couple of hours ($70 repair). I just had to buy a new wing tube and wing struts (only one strut was damaged, but they come pairs.... I think). The only drawback has been getting replacement wing tube and the wing strut. The Kangke website allows you to buy the plane, but you have to speak with a rep to buy the parts. It's been three weeks since my original order and have since only received the wing tube. I have been on the phone several times with them when they answer. Don't get me wrong, great product, just wish their website allowed you to order parts, because the alternative is not efficient or traceable for the end user. Looking forward to my wing struts.
Great plane, easy assembly, nice looks, excellent workmanship. Buy this plane.
