You got it all right Eric, you can let the vent line exit anywhere convenient on the bottom of the fuse or cowl. The loop in the vent line on top of the tank is the most important part. It will keep fuel from being able to siphon out of the tank and if the plane is tipped up on it's nose only a few drops if anything at all can leak out.
