You have two learning areas to deal with...

Electric planes & EDF's.

You may want to at the least look at some of the ESC programming manuals, so you are aware of all of the options. It doesn't matter which ESC, the idea is just to gain some familiarity.

Also check out what you can about Electric motors, ESC's & Batteries.

Things are much different compared to glow, and it is very easy to ruin an electric setup if you are new to this.


EDF's also require a bit of preparation & setup, lest the EDF vanes break off in flight.
This involves resolving vane clearance issues and gradual run-ups.

Sports-Flyer magazine had an excellent article about dealing, breaking in, and setting up EDF's last year.


Also remember that EDF's unlike tractor planes, have no prop wash over the control surfaces. This means that at slow speed, the planes are difficult to control at best... so it takes some getting used to.
