Default RE: Webra 160 for F3A pattern plane

Together with 2 clubmates we bought 3 engines including the C160 silencer. We were pleasently suprised with engine. We put them on a 2 * 2 mtr pattern plane. We do have all three the same plane. The total flying weight is of the planes is about 5 kilo's (4.7 - 4.8 kg). Two clubmates are running the engine with 16% synthetic oil and 0%nitro. I run my engine with16% oil and 2% nitro. Power is enough to go unlimited vertical. We are using 17*12 and 18*10 props. We were a bit concerned about the soundlevel (engines dont make noise :-) ). However this not an issue. You can actualy see trough the silencer but the sound level is effectively lowered. Someday wil do a measement.
We are running the engines not higher then 9200 RPM. The engine start very easy (most times one flip, execpt of course when the engine is flooded)
When in idle the engines shakes firmly. We had to strenghten the firewall construction and use foam to dampen vibrations (eg cockpit part). Transition from idle to full needs some adjustment (this does not worry us now as the the engine is stil running in)
We have now not more then 5 flights recorced so i can not tell how the long term stability/behavior will be.

Concluding: so far so good...

Kind regards, Jan
