Default RE: HL Tiger 1 Barrel Elevation.

ssrc30 brought his tiger over yesterday, and we had it apart for the gun elevation problem. Wiring was OK. Checked everything with my voltmeter and we had voltage to the motor, but no action. I wired the elevation motor directly to a battery source, and the motor was fine. Determined that although we had voltage to the motor it wasn't supplying enough amperage to make it move. I then turned my attention to the board. Once I removed that and flipped it over I saw what the problem was. A fried resistor. My mountain of fried HL boards meant I had a replacement at hand. Changed out the resistor and we were in business, and ssrc30 has a fully functioning tank.

This weekend I had two visitors who were interested in these tanks, and the big comment was what an incredible value these HL's represent. For the price of a high end ESC in a racing buggy you can have an entire 1/16 RC model!!. I did warn them though. It dosen't end there. My fully loaded Tiger with the Elmod sound system was there to show what can be done and the expense to get it there. Anyway it was great to have some guys start to show interest, and ssrc30 is a member of the local RC racing club which is very well supported in this town. The hope is once guys see these tanks in action, and the entry price, it won't be long unto a few more divert to tanks just for something different.

Don't know what ssrc30 thought of my workshop. I had being installing an Elmod sytem in my Tiger, and when I am working on a project I tend to use the tools and leave them where they lay. I felt like the nutty professor with tools and parts scattered across my work bench.
