Yes there are both alum or f/glass replacement gear available but I can't recall where I got mine from, but do a bit of reading in some of the early posts here as I know that it was discussed quite a bit. Although the wire gear does works it's really the model's only area that requires some beefing up especially if one flys off grass. Keep us posted as to how the 2nd generation maiden goes.
