RE: Futaba RXs
All of the Kadet line are nice slow flying big wing floaters. If it's your first plane, you may want to try the Kadet LT-40 ARF. It has a little more dihedral which makes the plane want to stay upright. The Mk II is also a kit, not an ARF. If you haven't got the time and experience to put one together, you may want to consider the ARF. If I'm understanding you Receiver question correctly, remember that you are limited to the number of channels of your Transmitter. You can get a 12 channel Receiver, but if the Transimitter is only 4 channels, you're waisting your money. I however have all 8 Ch receivers for my 6 Ch transmitter because they are cheaper than 6 Ch. Also the Tower Hobbies 8Ch DC FM is the same Rx as the Futaba 168, except for the price. For $30.00. You're fine. Worst case-They're not compatable and you sell them for $50.00 each.
