I have good luck with CA on plywood if I rub the plywood with baking soda prior to assembly.
If you really need the fast setting that CA gives this works great. I keep a little container on baking soda on my work bench just for this, It works great. In recent years I've developed a serious allergy to CA so I don't use it as much as I used to but occasionally I come across a situation where I either don't want to wait or can't effectively clamp the work.
