Before you do that try soldering a 1/8" id brass tube to a section of flat brass plate. Drill a hole in the brass plate that permits attachment to the face of the carb plate, orienting the end of the brass tube into and at the edge of the carb opening. Don't restrict the choke plate with the brass tube. The other end of the brass tube is connected via a section of fuel tubing to the opening in the diaphragm plate. No shipping costs and no parts costs for things you likely have laying around the shop now. The problem has nothing to do with the carb inlet design itself.
You mean like a 3W? I know of that system. You just make sure the metering vent and the air inlet are at the same pressure? I got the v-stack for almost nothing from Jody at Valleyview. Takes 1 minute to install it (I'm slow). Had the 8-32 barb laying around. Had some tygon to run it into the fuse. It's all done. I always wondered if that 3W system worked. I saw it on their engines so I call it the 3W system.
