Not all, even excluding the few side carbed versions. Their bottom carb mounted twins use a "snorkle" with a diaphragm tube to minimize the same issue that you and Joe have been dealing with.

Nothing wrong at all with trying a velocity stack but for some a stack may generate space or access issues. Just something to try before going to a stack. I'm sure I'll remember something that I'll want to add in this but it'll be another post when it happens....
