Hey Fellas, I've been reading and following this thread when I first started getting into gassers, with a new DL50, since last fall of '08. I've gleened a lot of info from here, hoping most of it the good stuff, as well as a life of off and on experience with tuning my own 2-stroke motorcyles and chainsaws........well anyway, please tell me I'm either doing something very well or maybe not so well if ya can with the following specs.
DL50
NGK cm-6 gapped at .0018
J-tec pitts muffler
Vess 22B prop (planning on switching to a 22A after break-in)
5 volts regulated to the ign.
almost 2 gals of 89 octane(no meth) w/32:1 Lawnboy
I've got it tuned to the "M. B. Fuess" method of starting with the high end needle first to max rpm then tuning the burble out while walking the the throttle down.
The plug looks clean with a light grayish/brown hue, and the motor runs very smooth and very strong with a little burble at low throttle. It's mounted on a 17 lb. 4 oz. YAk that will go unlimited on an upline vertical.
My question is.........8300 rpm OK?
Mando...........
