I've done it ans it can work. there a two problem I've had with it. One metal to metal contact causeing interferance. Two The flex cable binding. I solved the binding issue by wicking solder for about 3 inch of the flex cable, solved the interferance issue by soldering on a threded and and using a nylon clevis to isolate the metal to metal contact or use a metal clevis on the servo side. I've never had an issue with the flexable nylon pushrod.
