I completely agree with not too big. I used to have a big field box, it's not needed.

You're continually moving the field box to the plane to start the engine, either on a table or on the ground, then moving the field box away - engine dies - move it to the plane, then away, back and forth... I'm exaggerating with the engine dying, but the point is you move a field box around a lot.

There's not really enough room for a radio, but my old radios got banged around in my big old clunky field box - they got hammered - so now I never put my radio in my field box.

edited to add - no one I know uses the cradles on this field box.
