Default RE: Flutter

I built a Spadette LC-40 and had serious aileron flutter. Inserted two or three skewers in the outside TE. Still fluttering. Inserted two or three more. Had skewers in all flutes on theoutside TE. Still fluttering. Pulling my hair out at this point because when she fluttered, she also made a hard left turn. That was very bad for me as I had just soloed. Think about that hard left turn for a beginner. Now I trimmed off 1/2" all the way across the TE. Still fluttering. Man what to do now? Take the ailerons off and fly with rudder? Then I remembered reading a post months ago that suggested a fix that could be done at the field if you had a sharp knife. What do you know that fixed the problem. I can now come out of a steep dive to 10 feet off the deck at full throttle. What a thrill doing this with no problems. Full throttle loops, immermans, rolls, snaps and cuban eights. Now this is learning to fly. Oh I might better mention what the solution was. I marked an angle on the outside trailing edge of the both ailerons and cut it back from the original 2" to 5". Problem solved.
Hope this helps you and/or someone else building these spads.
