I purchased the H9 Alpha 40 RTF as my first trainer.
It is very forgiving and quite affordable.
One thing I did need to do was to buya secondSpektrum DX5e TX (one comes with the kit) and a buddy cord, because most of the TX at my field were Futaba TX's and the pilots were not real clear on how to setup using the two different TXs. So, to eliminate any of those probs. I bought the TX from RCU classifieds for like $50 and the cord was $10, and now I don't have to worry about people having the right cords and having to set up their TX to match mine.
It's worked out great. I'm close to soloing, just need to get my landings down...(buy extra props)...<BG>
