Default Not Dumb..but my solution may be
If the reciver is free, and you can slip the antenna down the nyrod and THEN hook up servos. Just stretch the antena out as straight as possible, close that portion in the freezer for a few minutes, it will be stiff and go right in the hole way.

THIS ONLY APPLIES TO ANTENNAS!!!
