Default RE: Richmodel

Hi, I hope you people are still looking at this thread! I ordered oe yesterday and expect it thurs/fri. I can give a build log w/pics if anyone wants. I have a spare roll of white Solarfilm (i am in the UK) so i will glass the centre part of the Canard and if the wheels are hard, i'll probably add the Du-Bro low bounce wheels as well. And of course, have the aft balance point. This shouldn't be so hard to achieve ( no lead) as i will be using a micro servo for throttle ( whats the point in using a standard? save wheight) and a VERY light Magnum Pro.45 2 stroke engine. This engine is amazing, as it will also swing up to a 12X7, probably higher, and is just as powerful as most .50-.55 engines avaliable today! I say 'today' as i cant find anywhere who sells it and i got it second hand... I might end up using elevator-flap as i get the idea that this *wont* loop on elevator alone... All in all, so what if it has bad instructions, and there are some flaws in the design. A bit of hard work and it flies great and will last for years! Just because it's an ARF, you can't really expect to have everything perfect right from the get-go... Remember, if you were building it from scratch, plans of from a kit you would have to spend 10 times the time it takes to get this ARF right, just building the damn thing! It's just a cheap ARF, so it just seems a little stupid when people go *pissing* around expecting Hangar-9 quality... Thanks to people like Ruby-G. (Ok, Rube then) Shubova and ScottMcM. I have to thank Scott especially even though i havent even recieved it yet as knowing me i would just flip it and try a 'low' pass down the strip inverted... plonk...[X(][:-] I have heared that with the Canard designs, (the foreplane stalls first, right?) that is the main wing stalls, it gets locked into a stall.. and is *nearly* impossible to recover from. This might have something to Scotts model 'quitting flying' when inverted. I'm really very curious about this plane and as soon as i saw it on sale for £79.99, i HAD to have it!! Sorry to blabber on, but i have just read this whole thread AND started a thread on a local UK forum so i suppose i had a lot to say...

Cheers,
