Default Lanier Edge 540

I've seen the ST 3000 fly the Hangar 9 1/4 Cap 232 and it was very impressive. I don't see any problems with it on the Edge 540. I just put the first three flights on my Lanier Edge 540. I am using the Saito 1.80 and 16X8 APC. It balances at 5.75 aft of the leading edge with no weight added. The battery is right behind the firewall and the servos are forward with a dual elevator bellcrank in the tail with a fiberglass pushrod for linear motion. If they haven't modified the landing gear in the kit you might as well order a set from TNT in Ohio. I just ordered some tonight because on the third flight I landed just fine but went to make a reasonably high speed turn at the end of the field and the gear folded under. They are probably 6061 but are definitely not T6. I would say annealed "O" is more like it. They are easily bent by hand with no spring back. Also the landing gear plate is light ply and mine cracked also when the gear folded under. The rest of the airplane is pretty decent. I have always been a builder though and lots of little things about most arfs bother me. I guess I shouldn't buy them but time is very important to me as it is to everyone else. This Edge has very neutral knife capabilities as far as I can tell so far. I'll know more after a few more flights. That will be after the new gear are installed.
