Flaperons / spoilerons are synthetic flaps / spoilers that use the aileron control surfaces to mimic dedicated (flap / spoiler) control surfaces.

They have the impact of increasing drag, slowing the plane, changing the pitch slightly (might need to mix elevator), and increasing / decreasing lift (and stall speed).

If you happen to have a DX7 radio (and what great luck that you do) then you can set them up easily.

To use them safely the planes ailerons must run nearly all the way to the wing root (which they do on the tiger) or you risk creating very undesirable stall characteristics (tip stalls before root).
