Default RE: The complete YELLOW AIRCRAFT SPITFIRE thread.

Brad,
Ella looks gorgeous.. and she has her own wings!! My wings don't look so good. After spending two months on an RV vacation mainly dodging hailstones in Texas. I came back to find I have a warp in the wing at the location of the flaps. The trailing edges of the wing at the flaps have bowed up in the middle giving a slight reflex to the wing at that point. One I could live with but the other is bowed up about 3/16". And I was hoping to fiberglass this thing this week! So to all of you on this thread.. any ideas. As I see it here are my options

1. Forget it.. trim it out... "There are enormous forces at work" to quote a clubmember.
2. Try to take out the warp..any ideas other than clamps and water?
3. Cut the warped section out and replace.. along with a lot of sanding and filling.
4. Start over!!!
5.????

Anybody any Ideas.... people who suggest option 4 will be removed from my good guys book!!

Speaking of good guys.. Nudger.. great job on the door.... now it all fits why not make the canopy powered?..Lot of work but a great Wow factor!!

Well I need a drink now... and things were just coming along nicely.. Let me know if Y'All (got that in Texas..) have any ideas.

Cheers

len

PS. Yes it's probably my fault i must have put down pressure on the trailing edges when i joined the wing sections!</p>
