Joe, don't forget to take a look at the wing joints where the outer wing panel meets the wing center section.
I would reinforce that joint in the front and in the rear. It's a weak part of the design. There's not a lot of strength in the foam cores and balsa sheeting. Longer, stronger reinforcers will help a lot.

JoeSpitfire,
One thing I wish I had done on my Spit was a built up tail. I have been told it saves a ton of lead in the nose, I have a Moki 2.1 in mine and it needs a couple pounds of lead. A built up tail would eliminate all that. Complete, with full cockpit, mine comes out at 24.5 pounds.

I recently acquired a Yellow Spitfire kit, and found it was missing all of the drawings and that all of the figures in the assembly instructions are blank. Can anyone help me find the missing information?

Anyone have or know where I can get the wing tips the the YA Spitfire? I have the new wing under construction, it didn't come with the tips.. I assume they are fiber glass. Or I will end up making some out of balsa/ thanks!

I have one of these that has been through a few hands. Wing is done though they did it with clipped wings which I don't like, I'll add the glass wing tips. It has been done as a bubble top and I do have the turtle deck though will leave it as is.
Has a 3W-50 in it.

Beutiful! Thanks for the video!
I'm rebuilding a YA Spitfire. I would like to use a 4-stroke engine that fits inside the cowling, if possible. I'v been thinking of a Saito FA-220. Any thoughts of the performance with that engine?
