Brad,

Nudge is doing something totally different than I do. He must have cut all the rails out of my fiberglass conversion piece. Look at my instructions to see how I make a (manual) movable canopy. I work with a spring steel wire around the front edge that locks into 2 holes on each side. The top center rail is just cosmetic to look like the channel on the real airplane. If I didn't put it in then people would have complained that it wasn't there, and now that it is in place they will ask "What is that for?" I can't win.

These sliding canopy rails that are out now did not exist 7 years ago when I started making these bubble canopy conversion kits. I have some now that I picked up from Dynamic Balsa. I'll have to see how they look and perform. Maybe someday I will convert the Spitfire conversion kit over to a sliding rail, but not yet.

Leo
Thanks Leo, Yes if you use the new rails it would be great. So using the movable canopy method with the wire sitting in the two holes in the front will this keep the canopy seated in flight ok or do I need to fix it at the rear for flight?

Cheers,

Brad
