Yep, try to keep the link as straight as possible. Slight bends, if any. The straighter the pushrod the less flex you will have.
Lay the fiber rod on the bottom of the fuse with the two wire pushrods inserted in the double hole endpiece then bend the wires where they exit the endpiece so you get a straight shot at the control horns. This gives you the bend angles you need to exit the slot in the fuselage sides.
Make sure, before you glue everything up, that the fiberglass piece isn't hitting a former inside the fuse. You can lengthen or shorten the wire lengths to get the FG rod away from the former as needed.
