Both are supposed to be decent second planes from what I've heard, but the Somethin' Extra might be a bit much. They're meant to be more of a "Fun-Fly" plane, and as such, will be much faster to respond to control inputs. This is generally a good thing, but if your thumbs aren't sufficiently trained, it can cause problems.

If you go with the Extra, keep the throws set real low to start, and have an experienced flyer standing by the first couple flights.
