How does the magneto ignition system work?
I am curious as to how a magneto ignition system works. I know a voltage is generated when the crankshaft is turning, but does it go to a coil and then to the plug or is enough voltage generated from the magneto itself to fire the plug?
Does anyone have a link to the information?
The reason I'm asking is because one of the guys in our club insists that there is a set of points in the system and I think he is 100% wrong.
