You could run an octura 447
and the ''monster'' would barely get warm im guessin'.........................lets see, hmmmm, 27'' vee, 5+/- h.p. brushless, 50,000rpms, 447 prop = 60-65 mph on glass?????? would you dare run a 450?????
P.S. - you beat me to this project, cuz i was gonna pull mine out of my 3905 to try it, but i was gonna go with a 72'' vee i saw on e-bay, i'm very interested to see and hear about this..................i'm sorta livin' it thru you.
you will not see 5hp out of this setup! that was on 6s and over geared..
motor is only rated 1500watts cont and 2500watts burts...
the motor will only draw the amps it needs to run, it will not always be pulling max amps (max watts- max hp)..
most do not understand that the motor will only pull the amps of what it needs to move
Well, Castle states 6hp and your post said 5hp in an isolated situation, and i said 5+/-, i also assumed he was gonna run 6s, why wimp out now when you're building a dragster?
Also, boats are usually run flat out all the time, the drivers cant help it, its the only speed they know, which results in max amp draw almost all the time.
and like I've said before, castle has a high claim on this motor even NUE who builds the motor for Castle says 2500watts max geared proper..
as before the guy who got the 1/2sec spike did it by overgearing his revo.. his constant was about 1600watts with that gearing...
no one is arguing, and so many people post some high claims. When it comes to boats, care needs to be taken or people will be burining up their motors and esc due to someone saying the wrong thing..
boats pull alot of amps and can generate alot of heat if not done right
I would love to see this boat run right and not burn up based on wrong info..
