RE: Best 26cc Engine
Though the 3W28 and new Syssa 30 would both outperform it, If I was again in the market for a 26cc engine, I'd pick up a good used G26, convert it to EI, trim the excess case material off and enjoy a very reliable, long lasting and light weight engine. Parts are readily available if needed down the road, and the cost of investment would be kept low, allowing for the purchase of higher performance exhausts and props. I sometimes kick myself for selling this one, but I haven't had a suitable aircraft for an engine this size for quite a while.
