RE: New SPA projects
I flew the Electric P-5 for the first flight today. One of my two batteries had a dead cell so I only had one battery to fly with which also has a weak cell (It's making the return trip back too). As a result I only made two short trim flights. As I suspected it's nose heavy but not as much as I thought it would be. I'm moving the rudder servo to the tail to help. It needed some left aileron and a couple clicks of up (nose heavy) but otherwise flew very well. All up weight is 6.87 lbs with the Zippy 6S 3700 pack. It needs some rudder to aileron mix and I need more aileron throw as the roll rate was a little slow for my taste. Once I get new batteries delivered this coming week and the CG moved back I'll be able to better trim it with the needed mixes I hope. I think it's a keeper and right now I'm planning to fly it in the Asheville SPA contest on 7/18 & 19.
