Pa-18cub150, your fiasco reminds me of the time I was carelessly soldering and managed to burn a 1" diam burn in my wife's (now ex-wife) cherished old round oak table. I was stupid to be soldering on the table. She was at work and I only had a few hours to fix it. I sanded out the burnt wood, filled it with wood filler then spent the next few hours mixing paint colors and practicing my "artistic" brush skills (I have no artistic skills), painting on a fake grain. She never found out. She sold the table a couple years later and got what I considered a ridiculous amount of money for it. Some people like that old stuff. :-)
