......... Unfortunately my Phoenix Extra 330 bit the dust ...........
The good news is I've bought another one, and will be diving back in real soon.
...........
This bird, isn't built quite as ''cheaply'' as I thought.
See you ''up there'' soon!

Danny, I hate to hear you lost your extra. I hope all goes better for your next one. Since you have a busted up wing on hand I wonder if I could ask a favor. Can you get a close up picture of the shear web material? I am curious whether or not it is just balsa (with grain in the wrong direction) or some of that funky soft plywood they use in this plane. Also, can you tell how far out the shearwebs go?
Damn...
Wish I read this earlier Rick. You know when you were told to clean your room and never did. Well, I do my work in my garage, and have a couple of other projects taking up bench space, but I really want to get going on the Extra.
Well, last week, I ''cleaned'' the garage, and unfortuately stripped out all the good stuff, and stepped on the rest.
Sorry...
It's All Good Danny,(add in a Texas accent)
I was just curious what the inside of these wings look like. I am sure that sooner or later I will have a chance to look inside my own wings.
