I have an SV27 I have been running for 3 years now. I bought a bigger prop and noticed a heavy vibration/farty sound on take-off that I could avoid by easing in the the throttle. Performance at speed was fine. I switched back to my favourite X440/3 prop and noticed the same sound but much reduced. All of a sudden, I lost the whole wire drive and prop.

I have always kept this thing lubed and the wire looked fine to me. Was there something I missed? I have replacement parts but I am wondering how much teflon tubing should be in the brass tube. It seems like there were two shortish pieces (total of 3"" in the boat when I retrieved, I may have lost some with the prop and wire when it fell out. Is there a magic value I should be stuffing into the tube?
